Produced Foam Test Kits

A Produced Foam Test Kit allows site personnel to test their own produced foam from expanded foam based fire fighting systems without the need for a laboratory.  The kits are easy to use and deliver foam concentration results within 30 minutes.  They are suitable for all foam types and include everything required to perform a site test to the method prescribed in NFPA11:2021 Annexe D.

The kits are particularly useful when undertaking a large number of tests as part of performance trials or system troubleshooting when results are required quickly so that adjustments can be made. They are also useful for checking the foam proportioning system is within the relevant standard before submitting samples to a laboratory which can avoid a long drawn out cycle of repeatedly testing a failed system.

We offer three different kits depending on the service expected, a description of each is below or click the link to download a fact sheet for each kit:

Seawater Produced Foam Test Kit

Freshwater Produced Foam Test Kit

Seawater Produced Foam Test Kit SWT1

The Seawater Produced Foam Test Kit uses the Refractometer test method and is suitable for the testing of produced foam (finished foam) made with either fresh water or salt water. The kit includes everything required to perform a site test and is suitable for use with all foam types generated from fixed, mobile and portable foam equipment.

It is fully compliant with the produced foam test method described in NFPA11:2021 Annexe D with the following notable points:

Includes a digital refractometer with a cover to exclude external light sources and reduce sample evaporation when testing.

Includes 1000ml sample bottles for making the calibration solutions, a new requirement from NFPA11 in 2021.

The refractometer accuracy of 0.1%Brix is important when testing certain foams with low Refractive Index (particularly AFFF) where the pass range may only be 0.2%Brix.

Kit Contents:
3 x 1000ml sample bottles
1 x 100ml measuring cylinder
3 x 125ml sample bottles
1 x Digital Refractometer

1 x Refractometer Protective Rubber Sleeve
1 x Instruction Manual

1 x 10 Test Consumables Pack includes:
2 x 5ml syringe
2 x 1ml syringe
55 x disposable pipettes

Freshwater Produced Foam Test Kit FWT1

The Freshwater Produced Foam Test Kit uses the
Electrical Conductivity test method and is suitable for the testing of produced foam (finished foam) made with fresh water (not suitable for salt water systems).

The kit includes everything required to perform a site test and is suitable for use with all foam types generated from fixed, mobile and portable foam equipment.

It is fully compliant with the produced foam test method described in NFPA11:2021 Annexe D with the following notable points:

Includes a temperature compensated digital conductivity meter.

Includes 1000ml sample bottles for making the calibration solutions, a new requirement from NFPA11 in 2021.

The conductivity meter is much more accurate than
handheld refractometers and therefore the preferred choice for fresh water systems.

Kit Contents:
3 x 1000ml sample bottles
1 x 100ml measuring cylinder
3 x 125ml sample bottles
1 x Digital conductivity meter
1 x Spare conductivity probe
1 x Instruction Manual
1 x 10 Test Consumables Pack includes:
10 x Standard calibration solutions
2 x 5ml syringe
2 x 1ml syringe
10 x Disposable pipettes

Flourine Free Produced Foam Test Kit SWT2

The Flourine Free Kit is the same as the Seawater Kit but is shipped with a higher resolution Refractometer which may be necessary for foams with low Refractive Index such as Flourine Free foams  The kit is suitable for the testing of produced foam (finished foam) made with either fresh water or salt water.
